John Dean ‘s book, Broken Government, does as promised — makes the compelling case that the result of Conservative Republican Presidents Nixon, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II, is a “broken” Government of the United States, citing such evidence as to the judicial branch, beginning with Nixon, apponting federal judges according to the litmus test — must first be card-carrying Conservative Republicans. Bush II’s abuse of “signing statements” neutored the legisslative branch, his establishment of, and approval of torture at Guantanamo and lying to Congress and the UN that Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, were evidense of excessive Executive Branch tresspass. .
And all that took place before Trump, who would make Bush/Cheney’s attempted Conservative coup seem like white supremesists painting grafitti on the lLincoln Memorial compared to Trump inciting the violent takeover of the Capitol
But a country w/o conscience — Conservatives having assassinated America’s conscience –JFK, Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy, a country in whcih its religious leaders are millionaires preaching in arenas, a country where MONEY, not character, is the mesure of the man, and women to the extent they can out- do men, a country in which a bottle of pille is one-fourth pills and three- fourths cotton, a country where a picture of a can of Campbell soup is pricessless art, poetry is cutting sentences in two, and piling one on top of the other, and music is random dissonant sounds from a computer, a country in which, as Plato warned, the dream of a democracy has morphed into a mob ruled by a Demagogue.
